Summary of Position

The Coordinator, Meridian Center for Global Leadership (MCGL), manages all administrative, logistical, and financial arrangements for in-person and virtual leadership programs, including exchange programs, reverse trade missions, trainings, workshops, and reporting tours funded by federal and private-sector partners. Programs may be developed and implemented in collaboration with Meridian Centers, including—and not limited to—Technology, Innovation and Space, as well as State and Local initiatives.

Participants include global and U.S.

-based youth, emerging professionals, and subject matter experts engaging with counterparts to exchange perspectives on priority issues and industry trends. The Coordinator oversees the day-to-day implementation of both long-term initiatives and short-term programs.

This position is in Washington, D.C. and requires MD, DC, or VA residence for all employees. The position may work partially remotely until further notice.

Requirements Position Responsibilities
  • Coordinate end-to-end logistics for domestic and international-facing programs—including arrangements for individual and group airfare, lodging, ground transportation, convening venues, and cultural activities—ensuring timely delivery and with compliance and budget alignment
  • Manage virtual and hybrid programming logistics, including video conference platforms, event registration tracking, and distribution of digital materials
  • Administer and reconcile program funds (GSA per diem, travel advances, cultural allowances, prepaid cards) and develop/monitor project budgets; process invoices, reimbursements, vendor payments, and monthly expense reports in compliance with funding regulations
  • Lead procurement processes, including drafting RFPs/RFQs, preparing vendor contracts, ensuring compliance with procurement policies, and maintaining accurate documentation
  • Support participant recruitment and selection; prepare program materials and brief participants on grant provisions, travel arrangements, per diem, and insurance coverage
  • Collect and organize participant onboarding materials and prepare detailed exchange visitor visa documentation, as required
  • Maintain accurate and organized digital records in alignment with data privacy policies.
  • In tandem with a program lead, provide stakeholder updates and assist with funder reporting, monitoring and evaluation, and final financial reconciliation
  • Provide onsite logistical support during possible domestic and international travel, as needed
  • Contribute to business development efforts, including drafting proposal narratives, budget documents, and supporting materials
  • Responsible for completing all organizational administrative responsibilities in a timely manner and meeting all organizational administrative deadlines

Education/Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, International Development, Political Science, Security Studies, Public Administration, Business, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience, including administrative, event, or program support responsibilities
  • Or any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position
  • Experience working with international participants or programs, including study or professional experience abroad preferred
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating domestic and/or international group travel logistics and managing budgets in compliance with established financial procedures preferred
  • Ability to thrive in an independent, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities, deadlines, and program demands while maintaining attention to detail
