SummaryThe Graduate Admissions Assistant supports the LLM and SJD Programs' admissions functions by providing support for general office tasks and communications. This includes assisting with data entry, follow-up communication, creation of documents for meetings and applicant files, maintaining and directing mail, managing social media, and other miscellaneous administrative tasks. This position requires attention to detail and strong communication skills.
This position will interact with many people on a daily basis, ranging from students (around 200) and prospective students (around 800), professors, administrators, and professionals from the community. As a vital addition to the staff, this position will support and ensure that the Graduate Admissions Office is able to maintain the level of student services necessary to maintain and grow enrollment numbers.
The Graduate Admissions Assistant will report directly to the Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions.
- File Maintenance:
Create application files, track completion requirements, communicate application status to students, approve submitted application materials, transition files for review, and close files as necessary. - Data Entry:
Maintain accurate records for individual applicants. Track applicant status in Salesforce and LSAC. - General Clerical:
Answers the main telephone line. Directs telephone calls and walk-ins to the proper channels. Maintain the general admissions email inbox. Respond to general applicant questions via email or directing them to the correct point of contact. - Social Media:
Manage the Instagram account for LL.M. admissions. Publish videos and posts that assist with recruitment. Work with the Assistant Director to support the overall marketing strategy. - Other duties as assigned. Graduate Assistant can suggest additional projects of interest.
- Part-time.
- 10 hours per week.
- $17.95 per hour.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education, training, or experience.
- At least two years of office experience and/or in a university/law office is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word is required.

- Professional-level Spanish proficiency is preferred.
- Knowledge of databases such as Salesforce is helpful.
