Director of Communications at the Korea Economic Institute (KEI)
KEI is seeking a motivated individual with strong organizational and interpersonal skills to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Finance and HR, the Office Coordinator provides essential support across financial reporting, human resources administration, and event logistics, while managing the resources needed to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. The Office Coordinator works closely with staff across the organization and serves as the initial point of contact for external stakeholders.
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Washington, D.C., with the possibility of one remote day per week, subject to program and office needs. The desired start date is January 12, 2026 or later. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States. KEI does not sponsor employment visas.

Through its publications, programs, and public events, KEI works to advance understanding of Korea and to inform policymakers and the American public about the economic and political implications of developments on the Korean Peninsula.
- Perform front desk duties and serve as the office’s initial point of contact, including greeting visitors, answering and directing calls, and processing mail.
- Serve as a liaison between KEI and external partners, stakeholders, and community contacts.
- Support efficient internal communications by maintaining the KEI office calendar and coordinating internal meetings.
- Under the direction of the Director of Finance and HR, assist in updating and maintaining KEI’s policies and procedures manual.
- Manage systems for recordkeeping and ensure proper organization of important documents on the shared drive.
- Maintain the organization’s vendor list and software subscriptions and serve as a point of contact as needed.
- Assist the Director of Finance and HR with financial reporting, tax preparation, and FARA filings.
- Support onboarding processes for new hires and assist with other human resources needs as required.
- Provide logistical support for events, including travel arrangements and catering coordination.
- Oversee office resources and supplies and help maintain a healthy and safe work environment.
- Serve as the primary point of contact with building management on maintenance and facilities issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- One to two years of experience in administrative or related roles
- Proficiency in Excel and Power Point
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Financial acumen and basic project management skills
- Familiarity with issues affecting U.S.
-South Korea relations - Professionalism in working with diverse groups of people
- Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively
- Ability to manage multiple projects and consistently meet tight deadlines
- Korean language skills not required, but preferred
