The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is the official national Democratic campaign committee charged with electing Democrats to the U. S. House of Representatives. The DCCC recruits Democratic candidates and supports Democratic campaigns – both challengers and Democratic incumbent Members – with a variety of services including field operations, fundraising support, communications assistance, digital strategy, research support and management consulting. The DCCC is supported by the contributions of individuals and organizations, along with Democratic Members, from throughout the country.

Position Summary

The primary responsibility of the Operations Assistant is to be the first point of contact for DCCC guests and to help manage the daily operations of the DCCC offices. This role will manage reception and supply needs for the committee and will be stationed at the front desk of the office. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, detail oriented, collaborative, and excited to work in a fast-paced environment.

This position requires the employee to be in-person at the headquarters office, with no work from home opportunities. Standard office hours are 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday. This position is part of a collective bargaining unit.

Responsibilities
  • Providing excellent customer service as the first contact for guests of the DCCC and members of the Democratic Caucus, including monitoring the Committee's main phone line, greeting and checking in guests, and managing the cafés and open areas
  • Working with the HR team to welcome new hires - creating badges, setting up desk spaces, running orientations, and providing tours of the office
  • Working as the first point of contact for staffers who have questions
  • Ordering and refilling/maintaining office supplies as needed, and responding to staff supply order requests
  • Acting as primary contact for the front desk security, working directly with vendors to ensure access to the building and submitting maintenance requests
  • Managing calendars for conference rooms and providing scheduling support to the Operations team
  • Collaborating with the Operations team to schedule/manage regular staff events and trainings, along with other events at our headquarters office
  • Supporting the Operations team in managing the DCCC Internship program
  • Providing support to the full Operations team with contracts, vendor payments, staff travel, deployment, and transportation benefits management
  • Forwarding voicemails to the correct departments
  • Performing other duties as needed to ensure the success of the entire Operations team
Requirements
  • Some administrative experience, or internship experience; preferably in a customer service environment
  • Ability to work in-office 5 days a week
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Work with a sense of urgency and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working in a dynamic environment that requires flexibility and teamwork
  • Skilled and thoughtful communicator who can effectively work with people from a variety of experiences and backgrounds
  • Strong attention to detail
