Overview

The Work:Senior Staff Assistant will provide advanced administrative and organizational support to ensure the efficient operation of the designated office or department. This position requires a highly skilled and detail-oriented professional capable of managing multiple priorities, maintaining confidentiality, and executing tasks with precision in a fast-paced environment. The Senior Staff Assistant serves as a central point of contact, coordinating communications, schedules, and critical functions for senior management or staff members, while also contributing to the overall success of the team.

ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:
- Serve as a staff assistant to Senior Advisors, coordinating and assisting in the accomplishment of administrative and operational issues, processes, and business needs.
- Maintain an understanding of the major issues, current and long-term, which are being pursued by the bureau.
- Maintain liaison with client offices and stakeholders to ensure that deadlines are met for the work tasked by the client.
- Ensure quality and timeliness of written products drafted by providing guidance, enforcing deadlines, and reviewing for format, style, coherence, accuracy, content, and clearance.
- Direct substantive reviews and seek to resolve critical issues.
- Communicate requirements and recommendations, as well as items of special significance or interest to Front Office leadership.
- Maintain liaison with the client and other 7th floor principals, as well as with principals in other agencies, as necessary.
- Assist in the development and coordination of appropriate systems of internal controls and provide advice and guidance to staff and program specialists on administrative issues.
- In connection with the planning of travel for the A/S, the assistant ensures that all briefing material is prepared from draft no later than 48 hours before anticipated departure.
- Other Duties as assigned.
- At least two (2) years of staff assistant level responsibilities.
- Experience with developing project and program plans, goals, objectives, and milestones involving complex programs, systems.
- Ability to work both independently and with others
- Secret Clerance is required.
- Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.
Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, including follow-up on pending tasks.
- Proficient in MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Working Conditions:- Professional office environment, with the ability to work onsite in the main office.
- Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties extended periods of time.
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position.
- Must be able to establish a productive and professional workspace.
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time looking at computer screen.
- May be asked to work a flexible schedule which may include holidays.
- May be asked to travel for business or professional development purposes.
- May be asked to work hours outside of normal business hours.
