Location: Washington DC (Hybrid)/Fully Remote Eligible
Salary Range: $65,000–$85,000 (commensurate with experience)

Are you a detail-oriented numbers person who thrives on organization, accuracy, and keeping financial operations running smoothly? Grossman Young & Hammond, a nationally recognized immigration, INTERPOL defense, and international human rights law firm, is seeking a Billing and Finance Administrator to support our day-to-day financial processes and ensure consistent, reliable book keeping, accounting, and billing operations.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys structure, problem-solving, and working behind the scenes to support a high-performing legal team. You will play a critical administrative role in maintaining billing/invoicing accuracy, supporting financial workflows and reports, and collaborating with attorneys and staff to keep systems efficient and compliant.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and process client invoices and billing adjustments on an ongoing basis
- Track collections and follow up on outstanding balances
- Assist with trust accounting and financial recordkeeping
- Perform account reconciliations and expense tracking
- Maintain accurate billing and financial data in firm systems
- Support monthly reporting and bookkeeping tasks
- Coordinate with attorneys, staff, and vendors on billing matters
- Ensure compliance with internal financial procedures
- Assist with administrative finance projects as assigned
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfort working with numbers and financial records
- Proficiency in Quick Books and Excel
- Experience with legal billing software (File Vine or similar preferred)
- Clear communication and follow-through
- Professional discretion with confidential information
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- A desire to improve and streamline existing financial systems
Preferred:
Experience in a law firm or professional services setting
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2–4 years of billing, bookkeeping, or financial administrative experience
- Demonstrated reliability and accuracy in prior roles
- Hybrid role with one in-office day per week (Washington, DC)/ Fully Remote Eligible
- 40 hours per week (eligible for overtime)
- Occasional schedule flexibility during billing cycles
- Requires careful handling of confidential financial information
- Standard office environment with extended computer use
