Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly organized and experienced Executive Assistant (EA) to provide high-level administrative support to an executive level official within the Department of Energy. Serving as the primary coordinator and integrator across all administrative, scheduling, and operational activities, this individual will be a trusted partner to the Executive and a key point of contact for stakeholders across DOE and beyond.
The ideal candidate is customer-focused and detail-oriented, bringing a welcoming, approachable presence and a genuine commitment to excellence.
- Managing a complex executive calendar
- Coordinating internal and external meetings
- Preparing and organizing briefing materials
- Streamlining communication flows between the Executive and stakeholders across DOE and beyond
- Bachelor Degree
- 7-10+ years of Executive Assistant experience
- Strong critical thinking capabilities to assess information, evaluate options, and support sound decision-making.
- Exceptional organizational skills, coordinating logistics for meetings and travel while ensuring efficient record-keeping and workflow management.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication, serving as a key liaison between the CIO and stakeholders across DOE and beyond.
- Prior experience working within the Department of Energy strongly preferred
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-demand environment, managing shifting priorities, with composure and professionalism.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to proactively identify challenges and develop effective solutions with minimal guidance
- Demonstrated initiative - anticipating needs, streamlining processes, and addressing issues before they escalat
- Ability to demonstrate the highest standards of discretion and confidentiality, managing sensitive information with care and professionalism.
- Effective stakeholder relationship management, building and maintaining positive working relationships across internal teams, external partners, and other key collaborators.
- Openness to feedback, continuously refining their approach to align with the CIO’s preferences and evolving needs.
U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance are required due to federal contract obligations.
Working ConditionsThis role is performed in an office environment at the Forrestal Building in Washington, DC. Responsibilities may involve extended periods of computer use and participation in virtual or in-person meetings.
