HRUCKUS is looking for an experienced Technical Writer to support agency operations, business processes, and communications by developing, reviewing, editing, and maintaining clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation and website materials.
PositionDescription:
The Technical Writer is responsible for creating, reviewing, editing, and maintaining clear, accurate, and user-friendly written materials to support the Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection operations and communications. This role ensures that content is consistent, well-organized, compliant with agency standards, and effectively communicates information to internal and external stakeholders.
Position Responsibilities:- Review, edit, and update agency website content to ensure accuracy, consistency, accessibility, and alignment with agency branding and communication standards.
- Draft, revise, and maintain website text, announcements, newsletters, guidance documents, and other agency communications.
- Edit and proofread a variety of written materials for grammar, punctuation, clarity, tone, and formatting.
- Review, update, and standardize Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other operational documentation.
- Format documents, reports, manuals, presentations, and correspondence for internal and external distribution.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and program staff to gather information and translate technical or complex information into clear, concise, and audience-appropriate content.
- Ensure all documents comply with agency style guides, document control procedures, and applicable policies.
- Maintain document version control and support the organization of agency documentation.
- Recommend improvements to documentation processes, templates, and writing standards to promote consistency and efficiency.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- 6 years of experience developing, writing, editing, and maintaining technical documentation, including instruction manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and how-to guides.
- 6 years of experience developing, documenting, and maintaining detailed design specifications for complex systems.
- 6 years of expertise and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Professional experience in technical writing, editing, communications, or document management.
- Experience editing website content and technical or administrative documentation.
- Excellent written, verbal, editing, and proofreading skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize deadlines, and work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Writing, Communications, Journalism, Public Administration, or a related field. Relevant experience may substitute for education where applicable.
The target annual salary is $57,904.00 - $62,040.00.
