Position Specific Summary
- The Office of Academic Planning and Assessment is hiring a graduate assistant to support the work of the university's re-accreditation and self-study for the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. The student will become familiar with the standards for accreditation and help collect, categorize and organize evidence in a way that is clear and compelling. The position is expected to be 15-20 hours a week during the academic year, with the possibility of hours during the summer and next academic year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Collection and Organization:
Assist in gathering, compiling, and organizing data related to academic programs, student outcomes, faculty qualifications, and institutional resources. - Maintain and update databases and files to ensure accuracy and accessibility of accreditation-related information.
- Documentation and Reporting:
Support the preparation of documentation and reports required for accreditation reviews and site visits. - Collaborate with stakeholders to gather evidence and examples that demonstrate compliance with accreditation standards.
- Communication and
Collaboration:
Work closely with faculty and administrative staff to communicate data/information needs and timelines. - Administrative Support:
Provide general administrative support for the accreditation team as needed.
Standard Position Description
- The student will perform administrative and research tasks under general supervision by a faculty member or research coordinator. Tasks may include: contribute to peer reviewed research and write research memos of findings, assist with presentations, supervision and training of other student staff, write and run statistical programs to analysis data. Special projects or other duties may be assigned related to specific departmental/faculty needs.

Required Qualifications
- Previous skills, training, or experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate student skilled in information management, data cataloging, project management, or higher education. Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, written and verbal communication. Works independently and in teams. Familiar with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel). Accreditation knowledge a plus.
