Congressman Gregory Meeks (NY-05) seeks a highly organized, detail-oriented, and professional
Staff Assistant/Legislative Correspondent to join his Washington, DC team.
Our ideal candidate has excellent written and oral communication skills, is highly organized and a motivated self-starter, and has a strong commitment to public service.
The Staff Assistant/Legislative Correspondent is responsible for managing the front office, answering the DC office phones, operating the DC office internship program, coordinating constituents’ tour and flag requests, managing our constituent mail program, planning and drafting legislative correspondence, and handling additional administrative duties of the office as assigned.
Possession of a driver’s license, a clean driving record, and a personal vehicle are preferred in order to drive the Congressman in DC. Driving responsibilities could include frequent short distances during days that the House is in session and some driving in the evening.
