Dow has an exciting opportunity for an Administrative Leader located in Washington, D.C.! In this role, you will serve as Executive Assistant to Dow's Head of Office for Government Affairs, North America, and supports the broader Government Affairs office. You will provide high-level administrative and operational support in a fast-paced, external-facing environment. We are looking for someone who is highly organized, responsive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities with independence and sound judgment.
The role involves regular interaction with senior company leaders, government officials and their staff, trade associations, external stakeholders, and colleagues across the organization.
Responsibilities- Provide executive and administrative support to Dow's Head of Office for Government Affairs, North America, while supporting the effective operation of the broader Government Affairs office.
- Manage a complex and changing executive calendar, coordinating and prioritizing meetings and commitments.
- Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, representing the office with professionalism and responsiveness.
- Coordinate domestic and international travel, including itineraries, logistics, passports, visas, and other travel requirements.
- Coordinate executive meetings, external engagements, team meetings, and events, including logistics, materials, technology, and follow-up.
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with appropriate discretion.
- Draft, edit, and coordinate correspondence, presentations, briefing materials, and other communications.
- Build strong relationships across the company and with external stakeholders, working closely with executive assistants and administrative professionals across the organization.
- Support the overall effectiveness of the Government Affairs office by coordinating meetings, activities, and administrative needs across the team.
- Manage expense reporting and other administrative processes in accordance with company policies.
- Share best practices and provide guidance to other administrative professionals as appropriate.
- Effectively use Microsoft 365, collaboration platforms, and other business technologies, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and ways of working.
- Model the company's standards for safety, ethics, inclusion, and professional conduct.
- A minimum of a high school diploma, GED or equivalent.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience.
- A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.
- No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
- Experience providing executive-level administrative support in a corporate, government, public affairs, association, or other external-facing environment.
