We are seeking a polished and experienced Senior Legal Receptionist for a temp-to-hire opportunity in a busy legal office environment in Washington, DC. This role is ideal for a front desk professional who enjoys being the first point of contact, managing a high-volume switchboard, supporting meeting coordination, and delivering exceptional service to clients, visitors, attorneys, and staff.
The Senior Legal Receptionist will play an important role in creating a professional, welcoming, and well-organized office experience. This position offers the opportunity to work in a respected legal services environment with a collaborative team, supportive leadership, and daily interaction with professionals across the office. Key Responsibilities- Greet and assist clients, visitors, employees, and legal professionals in a warm, professional, and service-focused manner.
- Answer, screen, and route incoming calls while maintaining proper telephone etiquette and monitoring staff availability.
- Coordinate conference rooms, meeting schedules, catering requests, beverage service, and video conferencing setup.
- Maintain visitor logs, follow office security procedures, and keep the reception and lobby areas clean, organized, and professional.
- Provide administrative support, including reports, calendars, appointments, files, correspondence, and business documents.
- Order and maintain office, reception, hospitality, and meeting supplies as needed.
- Pay Rate: $23.00 per hour.
- Job Type: 4+ month temp-to-hire opportunity.
- Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. - Hours:
40 hours per week. - Location:
Washington, DC 20005.

Required Qualifications and Skills- Manage front desk reception, visitor support, and client-facing communication in a professional legal office setting.
- Operate a switchboard, screen and route calls, and support office communication flow.
- Coordinate conference rooms, meetings, hospitality requests, catering, and video conferencing needs.
- Provide administrative support, including filing, scheduling, reporting, correspondence, and document preparation.
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of 3 years of receptionist, administrative support, or customer service experience.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and stay composed in a fast-paced professional environment.
Professional appearance, polished demeanor, and strong interpersonal skills.
Strong customer service mindset with the ability to build positive relationships with clients, visitors, attorneys, and support staff.
Preferred Qualifications- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree.
- Prior switchboard experience in a professional office environment.
- Previous legal office or law firm experience.
- Experience supporting attorneys, paralegals, or legal professionals.
- Familiarity with legal terminology, office procedures, and document management.
