Position Specific Summary

The Milken Institute School of Public Health ( GWSPH ) is seeking a Student Finance Assistant II
to support the Office of Academic Affairs and Student Services. This position will report directly to the Assistant Dean for Program Operations and Financial Management
.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Processing monthly expense reconciliation reports for various programs.
  • Updating shadow budgets on a monthly basis for school-wide programs.
  • Preparing expenditure and reimbursement requests for staff and faculty, as needed.
  • Reconciling biweekly reports for hourly staff working on sponsored projects.
  • Coordinating and arranging travel needs and processing related reimbursements.
  • Assisting with P-Card reconciliations and other reimbursement requests.
  • Processing invoices, supply orders, and other office-related financial transactions.
  • Reconciling student awards monthly with university records.
  • Managing and reconciling expenses related to sponsored activities, as needed.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.
Standard Position Description

Students will perform tasks to support financing and/or budgeting operations of an office, department, or program. Tasks may include: assisting with accounting, purchasing, travel and expense reimbursements, budgeting and financial record keeping and reconciliation, data entry, and other administrative tasks. Special projects or duties may be assigned related to specific office needs.

Required Qualifications

Some applicable educational, technical, or professional experience required, some training will be provided.

  • Coursework or experience in budgeting, accounting, finance, or related area; proficiency with Excel and/or Google Sheets; strong analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
