Regulatory Compliance Specialist, Business Administration
Are you passionate about legal ethics, risk mitigation, and supporting strategic growth in a dynamic law firm environment? We’re seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Conflicts Intake Specialist to join our team and play a key role in the onboarding and integration of lateral attorneys and business services professionals. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with the Conflicts Managers, Recruitment, and firm leadership to ensure a seamless conflicts clearance process for new hires.
You’ll help safeguard the firm’s integrity by identifying and resolving potential conflicts of interest and business sensitivities—before and after arrival—while supporting strategic initiatives and client transitions.
- Coordinate Conflicts Documentation
:
Review incoming conflicts forms for accuracy and completeness; ensure timely follow-up and assignment to junior team members. - Facilitate Strategic Onboarding
:
Engage with candidates and Recruitment to gather necessary details for conflicts clearance; brief incoming attorneys on intake policies and waiver strategies. - Support Client Transitions
:
Assist with client/matter registration and liaise with Records for file retrieval to ensure smooth onboarding of new clients. - Collaborate Across Teams
:
Work with Conflicts Clearance, New Business Intake, Legal Ethics Committee, and General Counsel’s Office to resolve complex conflicts issues. - Mentor and Train
:
Support the Manager in training junior Conflicts Intake Specialists and fostering team development. - Drive Results Independently
:
Manage tasks with minimal supervision, meet tight deadlines, and maintain high standards under pressure. - Contribute to Responsible Business
:
Participate in firm-wide initiatives that promote ethical and sustainable business practices.
- Experience
:
Minimum 3 years of legal conflicts research and analysis preferred; alternatively, 5+ years of law firm or legal industry experience. - Skills
: - Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience with Elite 3E Conflicts Database a plus.
- Core hours:
Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. - Flexibility for additional hours as needed.

This range reflects a good-faith estimate of pay at the time of posting; the actual compensation offered may vary depending on factors such as the candidate’s qualifications. This position is eligible for additional forms of compensation, which may include annual discretionary bonuses. Employees in this role are also eligible for benefits offered by the firm, subject to applicable plan terms and conditions, which currently include medical, dental, and vision insurance;

In Washington, DC, the expected base salary range for this role is $75,000 to $87,500 per year.
