Type: Contract with Potential to Convert
Pay Rate: $30 – $39 / hour | Conversion Salary: $70–$80K
Location: Columbia, MD
Schedule: 5 days onsite initially; long-term 1 WFH day (flexible timing)
Hours: 40 hour working week

Role OverviewA growing construction and contracting company is seeking an Accounts Payable Supervisor to oversee both corporate and project AP operations. This role manages high-volume AP across ~400 projects ranging from $250K–$500K each, with daily oversight of $1–15M. This is a hands‑on position requiring someone who enjoys collaborating across teams and working on‑site.
Key Responsibilities- Manage corporate and client AP processes
- Supervise AP team members, providing guidance and leadership
- Oversee project AP for hundreds of ongoing projects
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments
- Collaborate with project managers and other internal stakeholders
- Walk the site and liaise directly with internal teams (not a desk‑only role)
- 10+ years in accounts payable, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
- Strong technical skills:
Sage 300, Timberline, Timber scan - Construction experience preferred (commercial, renovation, government projects)
- Excellent soft skills: professional, customer‑service oriented, culturally adaptable, and friendly
- Positive attitude and team player
- Reports to Controller; works closely with AP Manager, AP Specialist, Payroll, and Project Accounting teams
- Collaborative, hands‑on environment with a strong focus on learning and growth
