Our BANKING & FINANCIAL SERVICES CONSULTING PRACTICE group is looking for a Business Analyst to join our journey.
The Business Analyst plays a key role in bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions. This role focuses on understanding business processes, gathering and documenting requirements, translating them into actionable user stories, and supporting teams throughout the project lifecycle to ensure successful delivery.(4-6 years)
We’re looking for Consultants who can deliver within Cognizant’s Five Pillars of Consulting

As a Consultant, this means creating high-quality client deliverables and taking ownership (with supervision) of producing client content and meeting client expectations; developing an expertise in your functional area, including obtaining certifications; contributing to Client Satisfaction and/or RFPs; supporting leadership and contributing to content development for service offerings; and participating in People Care initiatives and exhibiting personal leadership at all times.

Responsibilities Requirements Gathering- Engage with stakeholders to elicit, clarify, and validate business requirements.
- Conduct interviews, workshops, and process walkthroughs to understand current-state operations and desired outcomes.
- Translate business requirements into clear, concise user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Maintain detailed documentation including process flows, functional specifications, and business rules.
- Create visual models such as workflow diagrams, swimlanes, and process maps to represent business processes.
- Analyze existing business processes to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design future-state processes aligned with business goals.
- Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams.
- Facilitate communication to ensure shared understanding and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist in planning and coordinating User Acceptance Testing.
- Develop test scenarios and support business users during execution.
- Track defects, gather feedback, and ensure issues resolved prior to deployment.
- Contribute to project planning, prioritization, and backlog refinement.
- Monitor progress, identify risks, and support decision-making to keep initiatives on track.
- 6-8 years working in technology, consulting, professional services, or solution development within the industry.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Proficiency with process modeling tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart).
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and UAT processes.
- Ability to translate complex concepts into clear, actionable documentation.
Hybrid, Washington DC.
Compensation- $86,500-$101,500
- This position is eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans
