The Business Development Intern will support U.S. Travel's Business Development team in securing, executing and nurturing high-impact sponsor ships and partnerships across U.S. Travel's events and programs, including IPW - the world's leading inbound travel trade show, Destination Capitol Hill (DCH) - a premier advocacy event for the travel industry and Educational Seminar for Tourism Organizations (ESTO) - our annual learning and knowledge sharing forum for destination marketers.
This role is ideal for an individual interested in event planning, sales, sponsorship and account management. The Business Development Intern will gain hands-on experience working with cross-functional teams and will meaningfully contribute to projects that support the association's mission and goals.

Intern Will:
- Support planning and execution of sponsor deliverables for U.S. Travel events and programs.
- Support the ideation and creation of new sponsorship opportunities for U.S. Travel events including IPW, Destination Capitol Hill (DCH) and ESTO.
- Assist the Business Development team in preparing sponsorship proposals and sales materials.
- Support sales and fulfillment tracking.
- Assist with identifying and researching prospective event sponsors and partners.
- Contribute to events-related special projects as assigned
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail required.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- A self-starter and team player who can work both independently and collaboratively.
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude; someone who is energetic, articulate, and personable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Proficient in navigating multiple digital platforms and quick to master new internal systems or software tools.
- Strong "customer-first" attitude, focused on providing clear, empathetic, and timely responses via email and direct interaction.
- Active enrollment in an undergraduate program (rising junior or senior) or graduate program at the time of internship
- Position based in Washington, DC. Intern must be available to work from the U.S. Travel office in Washington, D.C. 1-2 days per week (Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday), with option to telework 1-2 days per week (Monday/Friday).

This is a paid internship compensated at $20.00-$22.00 per hour. - Length of Internship:
