As the world’s largest business organization, we believe in building a future that gives everyone the opportunity to pursue a better tomorrow. We make it our job today–and every day–to build the strongest relationships possible among the American people, business leaders, and elected officials in Washington, D.C., state capitals, and countries around the globe.

For them and the businesses we represent, the U.S. Chamber is a trusted advocate and partner.

We are driven by the pursuit of innovation and partnership and hold ourselves to the highest standards. Our commitment to our members is matched only by our commitment to our employees. As part of our team, we will support your long-term career development while delivering relevant learning opportunities. We will empower you to lead, develop deep expertise, and find new approaches to solving the toughest challenges.

Position Overview:

As a Senior Manager in the Center for Capital Markets Competitiveness (CCMC), you will provide in-depth policy analysis, policy development, member engagement, and project management on issues that affect capital markets, corporate governance, financial services, asset management, consumer compliance, auditing, and accounting. You will work as part of and support a team, work with member companies to formulate policy, and be familiar with the legislative and regulatory process.

An interest in financial services policy will be highly valued.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage interactions with member companies and attend working group calls to catalog member companies’ interest in CCMC’s work and other issues.
  • Research legislation and regulations to support larger initiatives.
  • Draft letters opining on legislation, testimonies, blog posts, and correspondence to Congress and regulators.
  • Manage the internal approval process for letters sent to agencies and Congress.
  • Manage the weekly CCMC newsletter.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience commensurate with the role.
  • Public policy, government relations, or capital markets experience attained from working in Congress, the executive branch, trade associations, law firms, corporations, or other relevant entities.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, handle confidential information, anticipate needs, and interact with high-level executives and their staffs both internally and externally.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience with customer relationship management databases, such as Sales Force.
  • Intellectually curious, a sense of humor, and the ability to deal with ambiguity in decision-making situations.
  • Familiarity with capital markets, corporate governance, or financial services policy.
  • Ability to manage multiple short- and long-term priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, collegial environment.
  • Ability to balance creating new initiatives aligned with available resources.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm for collaborating with other teams at the Chamber.

The salary range for this position is $75,908.00 to $80,500.00. The actual salary paid for this position will vary based on market data, an applicant’s qualifications, relevant degrees, certifications, and other factors.
