Junior Financial Systems Specialist

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Junior Financial Systems Specialist is an entry-level role that strengthens the technology backbone of the Finance Department, which supports both CRIPCS and its affiliated entity, Community Capital Corporation (CCC). Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, this new position is responsible for maintaining integrations across the department’s core financial platforms, supporting automation and process improvement initiatives, assisting in the development of AI-enabled tools, and building and maintaining the dashboards that leadership relies on to make financial decisions.

Working closely with the Finance team and the School’s outsourced accounting partner, the Junior Financial Systems Specialist gains broad exposure to nonprofit and fund-based finance operations while helping the department rationalize its software stack and continuously improve how work gets done.

CORE WORKSTREAMS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following outlines core duties and responsibilities for this position.

Systems Integration & Maintenance

  • Maintain and monitor integrations across the department’s core systems — including Sage Intacct, ADP, Nexus, Concur, and Tableau — to ensure data stays synchronized and accurate across platforms.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration errors, data mismatches, and sync failures; escalate and document issues as needed.
  • Support the evaluation, design, and implementation of new system integrations as the technology stack evolves.
  • Automation & Process Improvement

  • Support special projects to automate systems, rationalize the current software stack, and streamline workflows across finance and accounting areas.
  • Identify manual, repetitive, or error-prone finance processes and design automated solutions that improve accuracy and free up staff capacity.
  • Build, test, document, and maintain automated workflows as business needs change.
  • AI & Emerging Tools

  • Assist in developing and deploying AI-enabled tools and models that support financial reporting and day-to-day finance operations.
  • Prepare and structure data for use in AI applications, and help evaluate outputs for accuracy, reliability, and appropriate use.
  • Data Management & Dashboard Development

  • Manage financial data within Tableau, ensuring data sources are clean, well-organized, and reliable.
  • Create and maintain automated dashboards and visualizations that communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) to leadership and non-financial stakeholders across both entities.
  • Partner with Finance team members to translate reporting needs into intuitive, self-service dashboards.
