AboutThe Role
Kraken Kamp Camp Counselors are responsible for delivering an energetic, safe, and welcoming camp experience inside Kraken Kourts & Skates. Counselors actively lead campers through pickleball, roller skating, group games, and creative activities while maintaining supervision and promoting positive behavior. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with kids, staying active all day, and bringing enthusiasm to a fast‑paced recreational environment.
Responsibilities- Supervise groups of campers to ensure safety, inclusion, and positive behavior
- Lead structured activities including pickleball, roller skating, team games, and movement‑based challenges
- Set clear expectations and provide consistent guidance and redirection when needed
- Support campers' social and emotional development, teamwork, and sportsmanship
- Manage smooth transitions between activities, breaks, and lunch
- Assist with activity setup, cleanup, and organization
Communicate effectively with camp leadership regarding camper needs or behavioral concerns - Follow all safety policies and program procedures
- School‑Year Day Camps:
One‑day programs during DC‑area school holidays and closures - Summer Camps:
Week‑long, full‑day camps - Flexible seasonal commitment - work during the school year, summer, or both
- Teaching, substitute teaching, paraprofessional, or youth‑program experience strongly preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Comfortable managing groups of children in active settings
- Strong communication, organization, and behavior‑management skills
- Ability to stay active and engaged throughout the day
- Must meet age and background requirements
- Work in a fun, movement‑focused environment featuring pickleball and roller skating
- Supportive, team‑oriented culture
- Build leadership, youth engagement, and activity facilitation skills
- Make a meaningful impact creating memorable experiences for kids
