Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee the day-to-day field operations of a custom home construction project for a small general contractor. The Superintendent will be responsible for managing subcontractors, maintaining schedules, ensuring quality standards, and delivering projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all on-site construction activities from ground-breaking through final delivery
- Develop, maintain, and enforce project schedules
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and inspectors
- Ensure workmanship meets company quality standards and architectural specifications
- Maintain job site safety in compliance with OSHA and local regulations
- Conduct regular site meetings with clients, architects, and project managers
- Review plans, specifications, and shop drawings for accuracy and constructability
- Track daily progress, maintain job logs, and provide regular updates to the Project Manager
- Identify and proactively resolve field issues
- Ensure projects pass all inspections and achieve timely certificate of occupancy
- 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent in custom or luxury residential construction
- Strong knowledge of residential building practices, codes, and permitting in the DC metro area
- Proven ability to manage high-end finishes and complex architectural details
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
