A DC based General Contractor is seeking a Safety Superintendent
, to orchestrate seamless sproject execution on $30M+ jobs in healthcare, multifamily, education, and more.
The Safety Superintendent is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing all jobsite safety programs for the company’s construction projects. The role ensures full compliance with company policies and local, state, and federal regulations (including OSHA) while driving a proactive, field‑focused safety culture across assigned projects
Day-to-Day Impact- Develop, implement, and maintain project‑specific safety plans, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and site logistics/safety plans in coordination with project leadership.
- Conduct regular jobsite safety inspections and audits to identify unsafe conditions/behaviors and ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and document incident and near‑miss investigations, determine root causes, and drive corrective and preventive actions.
- Plan, schedule, and conduct safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety training for employees and subcontractors.
- 5–10+ years of construction safety experience with a commercial or industrial general contractor; prior field (superintendent/foreman) experience preferred.
- Current OSHA 30‑Hour Construction card required; CHST, CSP, or equivalent safety certification strongly preferred.
- Proven experience developing and administering jobsite safety programs, conducting inspections, and leading incident investigations.
