Commercial Construction Superintendent - Multifamily

A Superintendent directs the workflow of a commercial construction project on site in accordance with project schedules and HITT safety and quality standards, serving as a middle‑level leader and liaison among project team members.

• Understand and administer the HITT safety program for all subcontractors, report and investigate accidents/incidents, and assist with safety inspections by outside agencies.
• Maintain HITT quality standards for all project aspects.
• Act as the primary safety leader, ensuring a safe jobsite for all.
• Maintain a daily log of activities and site conditions, manage punch list and closeout process through owner/architect acceptance.
• Work with the project manager to formulate project schedules, ensure proper methods and sequencing, and uphold schedule commitments while maintaining quality standards.
• Maintain strong working relationships with all subcontractors, fostering fair treatment and community relationships that enhance business opportunities.
• Ensure complete, accurate daily documentation of work orders/tickets, understand subcontractor scope to avoid unnecessary change orders, identify problems early and act immediately to provide solutions.
• Develop and organize the site team, arrange temporary facilities/utilities, and identify long‑lead items that need expediting.
• Collaborate with the project manager and site operations team throughout the project life cycle.

• Four‑year degree from an accredited university in construction, engineering, or business strongly preferred; in lieu of a degree, additional work experience is acceptable.
• 5+ years’ experience in commercial construction, including general contracting, tenant renovations, service work, work in occupied spaces, weekend work, and fast‑paced projects.
• Mastery of building processes and best practices.
• Ability to organize necessary resources—people, tools, and time—to meet tight deadlines and achieve results.
• Project lead or superintendent experience preferred.
• Proficiency with sector/project‑specific software systems (Microsoft Office suite, Pro Core, Adobe, Blue Beam, OSHA 30 Certification preferred).
• Physical ability to walk/stand for long periods and lift up to 50lbs.
• Strong communication skills, positive attitude, and passion for construction and the industry.
• Ability to analyze data, interpret into meaningful information, and communicate clearly in business writing and verbal formats.
• Organizes and manages tasks and priorities, demonstrates integrity consistent with HITT Way and core values.
• Seek continuous improvement, adapt flexibly to technology and changing methods, collaborate with diverse backgrounds, and maintain respectful relationships with colleagues, clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
