Project Manager - Commercial Façade & Glazing Construction About the Company
Our client is a leading commercial façade and glazing contractor serving the Washington, DC Metro area. The company specializes in the design-assist, project management, fabrication coordination, and installation of complex building envelope systems for commercial, institutional, mixed-use, healthcare, education, and government projects. Their expertise includes curtain wall, storefront, architectural glazing, metal panel, rainscreen, terracotta panel, louver, and sunshade systems.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee multiple façade and glazing projects from pre-construction through closeout.
Position SummaryThe Project Manager will be responsible for the overall execution of commercial façade and architectural glazing projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This individual will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, general contractors, architects, consultants, vendors, and field teams.
Key Responsibilities- Manage multiple façade and glazing projects throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, execution, and closeout.
- Lead coordination efforts with general contractors, architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Review project drawings, specifications, contracts, submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
- Track project financial performance, including cost forecasts, billing, budgets, and profitability.
- Coordinate procurement and delivery of curtain wall, storefront, metal panels, glazing systems, louvers, and related building envelope materials.
- Conduct regular project meetings and maintain communication with all stakeholders.
- Partner with field superintendents to ensure installation activities progress according to schedule.
- Manage project risks and identify solutions to technical and logistical challenges.
- Ensure compliance with safety requirements, quality standards, and contract obligations.
- Oversee project closeout documentation, punch lists, warranties, and final turnover.

Candidates should have experience managing one or more of the following:
- Curtain wall systems
- Unitized curtain wall
- Stick-built curtain wall
- Storefront systems
- Architectural glazing
- Metal panel systems
- Rainscreen façades
- Terracotta cladding systems
- Skylights and canopies
- Sunshades and louvers
- Commercial building envelope construction
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of project management experience within commercial construction.
- Strong experience managing façade, glazing, curtain wall, cladding, or building envelope projects.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Experience with project scheduling software and construction management platforms.
- Strong financial management and cost-control skills.
- Excellent communication, client-facing, and leadership abilities.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Candidates may come from commercial glazing, curtain wall, façade, cladding, architectural metals, or building envelope contractors and have experience working on large-scale commercial, institutional, healthcare, government, higher education, or mixed-use construction projects.
