Commercial Construction Senior Superintendent - Healthcare

We are seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent to lead on-site construction projects for the healthcare sector, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

Responsibilities
  • Understand and administer the HITT safety program, including all subcontractors, promptly report and investigate accidents/incidents, and assist in safety inspections by outside agencies.
  • Maintain HITT quality standards for all project aspects.
  • Lead all on‑site safety initiatives, managing a safe jobsite for all involved.
  • Maintain a daily log of all activities and site conditions, manage the punch list, and oversee the close‑out process through owner/architect acceptance.
  • Collaborate with the project manager to formulate the project schedule, ensure proper installation methods and sequences, make and uphold schedule commitments, and maintain HITT quality standards.
  • Maintain good working relationships with all subcontractors, develop community relationships to enhance business opportunities, and treat subcontractors fairly.
  • Ensure complete, accurate daily documentation of work orders/tickets; understand subcontractor scope of work to avoid unnecessary change orders and identify problems early to provide solutions.
  • Develop and organize the site team, arrange temporary facilities and utilities, and identify long‑lead items that need to be expedited.
  • Collaborate with the project manager and site operations team throughout the life of the project.
Qualifications
  • A four‑year degree from an accredited university, preferably in construction, engineering, or business; in lieu of a degree, additional relevant work experience is acceptable.
  • 8–10 years of experience in commercial construction, including work with a commercial general contractor, tenant renovations, service work, work in occupied spaces, weekend work, and fast‑paced projects.
  • Mastery of building processes and best practices.
  • Ability to organize necessary resources, including people, tools, and time, to meet tight deadlines and achieve desired results.
  • Project lead experience preferred.
  • Previous experience as a superintendent or project lead preferred.
  • Proficiency with sector/project‑specific software systems, including Microsoft Office (Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), Pro Core, Adobe, Blue Beam.
  • OSHA 30 Certification preferred.
  • Ability to walk and/or stand for long periods and lift up to 50lbs.
  • Strong communication skills: clear, concise, and professional, with a focus on audience‑appropriate business writing and verbal skills.
  • Positive attitude and passion for construction and the industry.
  • Ability to gather data, interpret it into meaningful information, and communicate findings through clear, concise strategies; understand how components fit into the larger business model.
  • Organize and manage tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Demonstrate integrity consistently with The HITT Way and HITT’s core values.
