Commercial Construction Assistant Superintendent – Advanced Manufacturing
This position supports managing workflow consistent with project schedules, communicating project priorities, maintaining reports, and handling punch list and closeout processes. The assistant superintendent administers the HITT safety program, reports and investigates incidents, and assists with safety inspections.
Responsibilities- Work with the project manager to formulate the project schedule and ensure proper methods and sequencing are followed.
- Maintain HITT quality standards and ensure subcontractors follow them.
- Maintain accurate daily documentation of work orders/tickets, understand subcontractor scope of work, and identify problems early.
- Develop and organize the site team, arrange for temporary facilities and utilities, and expedite long‑lead items.
- Maintain good working relationship with all subcontractors and community partners.
- Assist in planning, organizing, directing, and controlling building aspects to meet budget, quality, time, and safety objectives.
- High school diploma required; four‑year degree in construction, engineering, or business strongly preferred.
- 2–5 years’ experience in commercial construction, including general contractor projects, tenant renovations, service work, and work in occupied spaces.
- Experience with commercial general contractor schedules, fast‑paced projects, and weekend work all a plus.
- Project lead experience is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), Pro Core, Adobe, Blue Beam, and OSHA‑30 certification preferred.
- Ability to walk/stand for long periods and lift up to 50lbs.
- Strong communication, positive attitude, problem‑solving, organizational and integrity skills.

Base salary range (Virginia): $79,200.00 – $. Compensation in other cities and states may vary.
