Role: Senior Scheduler

Location: Washington, DC / Baltimore, MD Area

Work Type: Full-Time, On-Site

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Scheduler to provide detailed oversight, analysis, and reporting for complex construction project schedules.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction scheduling, advanced Primavera P6 expertise, and strong analytical capabilities to evaluate project timelines, identify schedule risks, and develop recovery strategies.

This role requires a highly experienced scheduling professional who can analyze contractor schedules, monitor critical path activities, evaluate schedule performance, and collaborate with project teams to support successful project delivery.

Education/Experience
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant scheduling experience.
  • Extensive experience supporting large-scale construction projects.
  • Expert proficiency with Primavera P6.
  • Strong experience developing, reviewing, and analyzing project schedules.
  • Experience monitoring contractor schedule submissions and project milestones.
  • Experience performing schedule variance analysis and forecasting.
  • Experience evaluating project logic structures, dependencies, and schedule interfaces.
  • Experience with forensic schedule analysis and construction claims analysis is highly desirable.
Preferred Professional Credentials
  • PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP®).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP®).
  • AACE Certified Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP®).
  • AACE Certified Cost Professional (CCP®), especially combined with scheduling experience.
Skills/Knowledge
  • Advanced knowledge of Primavera P6 scheduling software.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, project controls, and critical path methodology.
  • Ability to analyze complex project schedules and identify potential risks.
  • Strong knowledge of schedule logic, relationships, constraints, and dependencies.
  • Experience preparing schedule forecasts and recovery recommendations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with project managers, contractors, and commercial teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Responsibilities Schedule Oversight & Analysis
  • Review and provide detailed oversight of contractor schedule submissions.
  • Monitor critical path activities, schedule logic, and project interfaces.
  • Analyze schedule performance and identify potential delays or risks.
  • Perform monthly project schedule updates and reviews.
  • Conduct schedule variance analysis and recommend corrective actions.
Schedule Forecasting & Recovery Planning
  • Prepare schedule forecasts and evaluate project completion timelines.
  • Develop and recommend recovery strategies for schedule delays.
  • Support project teams in developing mitigation plans.
  • Highlight schedule slippage and other schedule-related concerns.
Project Controls Support
  • Evaluate schedule logic structures, dependencies, and interfaces.
  • Provide scheduling insights to support project decision-making.
  • Collaborate with project teams to improve schedule performance.
  • Work within a matrix organization while supporting scheduling and commercial objectives.
Reporting & Communication
  • Prepare schedule reports and communicate key findings to leadership.
  • Identify emerging risks and provide recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate and timely schedule documentation.
Work Environment
  • Full-time, on-site position.
  • Work across multiple project locations within the Washington, DC / Baltimore, MD area.
  • Collaborative environment working with project management, scheduling, commercial, and contractor teams.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a highly experienced construction scheduler with deep Primavera P6 expertise who can independently analyze complex project schedules, identify risks, recommend recovery solutions, and communicate effectively with project stakeholders.

Candidates should have strong experience in construction scheduling, critical path analysis, schedule forecasting, forensic schedule review, and project controls
, with the ability to support successful delivery of major construction projects.
