Federal Construction Project Manager (PM)

Location:

Hyattsville, MD
Work Arrangement:
Must be local to the DMV/Hyattsville area and able to work from the client's home office while traveling to project sites as required.
Duration: 12+ Months (Start: 9/28)
Type: 1099 Contractor with Opportunity for Direct Hire W2

Compensation & Benefits
  • Compensation: $66/hr (1099) or $125,000 Salary (W2)
  • Travel Reimbursement: IRS Mileage Reimbursement and Applicable Per Diem for Project Site Travel
  • Pay Frequency:
    Weekly (1099)

Why This Opportunity?

Join a federal government construction contractor supporting Department of Defense, NAVFAC, and other federal construction projects. Project scope includes government facility renovations, infrastructure improvements, building construction, mechanical systems, utility work, and multi-trade federal construction activities.

The Federal Project Manager will oversee project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, RFIs, invoicing, change orders, quality control requirements, and client communications while ensuring successful execution of federal construction contracts from award through closeout.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 5+ Years of Project Management Experience on Federal Government Construction Projects
  • Experience Managing Federal Government Construction Contracts and Projects
  • Strong Understanding of Construction Drawings, Specifications, and Blueprint Reading
  • Experience with Project Scheduling and Budget Management
  • Experience Managing Subcontractors and Vendor Relationships
  • Experience with Subcontractor Buyouts
  • Experience Managing RFIs and Submittals
  • Experience with Schedule of Values Development and Management
  • Experience with Client and Subcontractor Invoicing
  • Experience Managing Change Orders
  • Experience with Accident Prevention Plans (APPs)
  • Experience with Quality Control Plans (QCPs)
  • Strong Communication, Leadership, and Organizational Skills

  • USACE Project Experience
  • EM 385-1-1 Familiarity

What You'll Be Doing
  • Manage federal construction projects from award through closeout
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and forecasting reports
  • Manage subcontractor procurement, buyouts, and contract administration
  • Review and process RFIs, submittals, and project documentation
  • Manage project invoicing, Schedule of Values, and financial reporting
  • Negotiate and process project change orders
  • Coordinate project activities with owners, government representatives, subcontractors, and field personnel
  • Support development and management of Accident Prevention Plans (APPs)
  • Support implementation of Quality Control Plans and project quality objectives
  • Monitor project performance, costs, schedules, risks, and compliance requirements
  • Conduct project meetings and provide updates to leadership and clients
  • Ensure successful delivery of federal construction projects on schedule and within budget
