Volunteer Filmmaker/Video EditorOn‑site Filming Required
The Prevention of Blindness Society of Metropolitan Washington (POB) is seeking a talented and dedicated volunteer Filmmaker/Video Editor to create three short videos (3-4 minutes each) for our core program areas children, adults, and people with vision impairment. These videos will play a vital role in welcoming new volunteers and donors, helping them understand our mission, values, and procedures so they feel prepared to contribute meaningfully.
Responsibilities- Capture on‑site footage and edit it into three polished, engaging videos.
- Incorporate branding elements, music, and voiceovers (if applicable).
- Add text overlays, graphics, and simple animations to enhance clarity.
- Ensure accessibility and alignment with POB’s communication guidelines.
- Collaborate with staff to review drafts and refine based on feedback.
- Deliver final videos in formats suitable for online platforms.
- Proven video editing experience with a strong portfolio (students welcome to apply).
- Proficiency with video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or similar).
- Strong grasp of pacing, storytelling, and visual aesthetics.
- Ability to work independently, manage time, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Passion for community service and alignment with POB’s mission.
- Showcase your filmmaking and editing skills in support of a meaningful cause.
- Gain experience with a respected nonprofit organization.
- Receive a letter of recommendation upon successful completion of the project.
- Ability to use final products in a professional portfolio.
