Position Description
Works closely with section manager and staff to perform duties in support of the department's official website, publishing, social media, and other visual and media communication projects. Operates a variety of cameras and equipment to photograph routine and mission critical public events, official staff photos, and official portraits. Works as part of a digital media team for special programs and assignments.
Responsible for matting and framing new photographs and images already displayed at the Board.
- Coordinates photo shoots with fast turnaround photographic processing for Board official public events (such as press conferences, Board member speeches, meetings, special programs) and select internal Boardwide events (such as Special Achievement Awards). May be required to travel offsite to photograph the Chair and governors at high-profile meetings and official events.
- Coordinates assigned photographic support for the Board’s official publications, communications, web and social media channels. Takes official staff photos and official portraits of the Chair, governors, FOMC, Board officers, and committee members, as assigned.
- In coordination with other section staff, perform image post-processing functions including proofing, printing, large format printing, basic touch‑up, color correction, scaling and filing. Mats, frames, and repairs photographs and images.
- Assists section manager in maintaining inventories and supplies for photography studio. Provides recommendations on resources needed.
- Archives work and maintain the Board’s official photograph databases and stock digital images for use by Board and System staff; ensures image selections are up to date and easily identifiable for searching and selection.
- Keeps abreast of evolving photography and digital media technologies through training and professional publications, and outside contacts.
- Identifies appropriate directions for own professional development and initiates activities that lead to self‑improvement.
FR-23:
Position requires demonstrated experience in traditional and digital photography. Must understand photographic studio workflow practices, including fast turnaround photography and tight deadlines.
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite products, especially Photoshop, InDesign and Lightroom are desired. Experience in photographic presentation techniques, including traditional matting and framing, as well as digital presentation are desirable. Knowledge level acquired through a bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) and 1 year of work‑related experience. Preferred experience working with keynote speeches and/or press conference events. Will be required to show a portfolio of their photographic work during the interview.
FR 24:
Position requires demonstrated experience in traditional and digital photography. Must have knowledge of photographic studio workflow practices and experience meeting tight deadlines.
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite products, especially Photoshop, InDesign and Lightroom. Expertise in photographic presentation techniques, including traditional matting and framing, as well as digital presentation are desirable. Knowledge level acquired through a bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) and 3 years of work‑related experience. Preferred experience working with keynote speeches and/or press conference events. Must be highly dependable and capable of working collaboratively and independently.
Will be required to show a portfolio of their photographic work during the interview.
This position requires US citizenship and is fully on‑site at our offices in Washington, DC.
