- Our client is a marketing agency for political clients and they are seeking an Art Director/Senior Designer to lead the development of high-impact, strategically driven creative across integrated marketing campaigns while mentoring a junior designer and elevating overall visual quality and consistency.
THIS ROLE IN ONSITE IN EITHER WASHINGTON, DC OR RICHMOND, VA
You Will- Lead concept development and execution across digital, social, web, print, and motion deliverables.
- Translate messaging and strategy into persuasive visual storytelling and campaign-level ideas.
- Establish and maintain brand systems, campaign identities, and visual guidelines.
- Provide art direction and feedback to one direct-report designer to elevate craft and consistency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners including marketing, copy, production, and video teams.
- Present creative rationale and defend decisions with clear strategic thinking.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining speed, organization, and attention to detail.
- Ensure final deliverables meet technical specifications across channels and placements.
- Review work for quality control and maintain organized asset libraries and file structures.
- Help refine creative processes and contribute to stronger, more efficient workflows.
- 5+ years of professional design experience in a fast-paced creative or agency environment.
- Experience operating at a senior level with ownership of projects from concept through execution.
- Demonstrated art direction or mentorship experience guiding another designer.
- Strong portfolio showing brand identity, campaign thinking, and multi-channel execution.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Working knowledge of Figma and presentation design tools.
- Strong understanding of typography, hierarchy, composition, and color theory.
- Ability to interpret strategic direction and convert it into compelling visual concepts.
- Comfort working under tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
- Clear communication skills and collaborative mindset across teams.
- Portfolio required for consideration.

Hours/Week: 40 Hours/Week
Onsite/Offsite: Onsite in Richmond, VA or DC Offices
