The Atlantic Council seeks a passionate, motivated, and creative videographer and editor to join its Video team within the organization’s broader Engagement team. This person will work on the Atlantic Council’s wide range of video products, from social media videos to short promos and explainers to long-form interviews, podcasts, and events. The videographer and editor will also help develop visual identities for new formats and original programming.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable taking on video projects and executing them from start to finish, working with stakeholders from around the organization. The candidate should be an excellent video storyteller who is full of ideas for improving the Council’s video offerings. The candidate should be able to balance multiple projects and deadlines, working quickly and creatively, and should know how to adapt content for success on a variety of video platforms.
This position is based in our Washington, DC, headquarters, requiring a minimum of 4 days per week in office. The Atlantic Council offers a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience, education, and organizational equity, with offers from $75,000 to $85,000. Applications submitted by March 6, 2026, will be prioritized for consideration.
Job Responsibilities- Produce video projects both independently and collaboratively with colleagues from across the Atlantic Council.
- Film interviews and b-roll, record remote interviews, and source video from several platforms.
- Consult with stakeholders across the organization on video format and content to maximize success of each project.
- Edit videos creatively on tight deadlines using Adobe Premiere.
- Respond quickly to breaking news and last-minute video requests, in addition to planning long-term, high-impact projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- At least 4 years of relevant work experience.
- Ability to film interviews, including multi-camera setups, and b-roll. Experience with a variety of video equipment including cameras, microphones, lighting, lenses, and tripods.
- Familiarity with virtual recording platforms.
- Experience editing in Adobe Premiere and After Effects; motion graphics experience preferred.
- Creativity and storytelling skills with strong attention to detail.
- Interest in and curiosity about international affairs.
- Poise and professionalism in a fluid, dynamic environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written), including the ability to identify and work through challenges, underscored by strong judgment and emotional intelligence.
- Skilled in clear, persuasive, and effective communications with various stakeholders, including senior officials, policy experts, journalists, and staff.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently on multi-step, detail-oriented projects.
- Familiarity with You Tube, Vimeo, X, Instagram, Linked In, Tik Tok, and other digital platforms.
