Architect II

Michael Graves is looking for a creative, talented, and team-oriented Architect II to join our dynamic internationally acclaimed team. Ideal candidates should be passionate about design, work well in a collaborative team environment, and communicate ideas and approaches in a clear and thoughtful manner. We are looking to fill in-person only positions in our Washington DC location.

• A professional degree in architecture (B.Arch., M. Arch) required.
• Minimum of six years of professional experience as a licensed professional.
• Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship.
• Responsible for specific technical design aspects of an assigned major project, including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions that best meet the client’s needs.
• Provides professional architectural consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of large complex projects including consultants.
• Independently apply advanced architectural concepts and designs.
• Carries out complex and novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures.
• May provide technical guidance to less experienced architects.
• Performs code compliance activities.
• Participates in QA/QC.
• Participates and supports profitability, forecasting and professional development. (e.g., financial, contracts, staffing, mentoring)
• Must be proficient in Revit, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Newforma, and E-specs
• Strong proficiency in conceptual design, design presentation and construction documentation
• Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD required.
• Strong modeling skills in 3ds Max and Sketch Up required
• Strong graphic and presentation skills using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign & Illustrator) required.
• Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and energy
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
• Strong presentation, organizational and communication skills
• Willingness to travel as needed
