The George Washington Medical Faculty Associates’ Department of Surgery seeks a full-time faculty member for the Trauma and Acute Care Surgery Section. The MFA is an independent not-for-profit clinical practice group affiliated with The George Washington University. This is a non-tenure-track appointment at a rank (instructor, assistant, associate, or full professor) and total compensation, commensurate with experience, ranging from $350,000 to $400,000.

Our practice is centered in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. We are seeking to recruit a trauma/acute care surgeon with responsibilities to provide trauma, emergency general surgery, and ICU coverage primarily at the George Washington University Level 1 Trauma Center, with the position also involving coverage at our new hospital, Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center. Other responsibilities include teaching fellows, residents, and medical students, as well as contributing to an active research program.
QualificationsApplicants must be board-eligible or board-certified in general surgery and surgical critical care at the time of appointment. They should have demonstrated excellence in teaching, as evidenced by teaching evaluations; in research, as evidenced by scholarly publications or works in progress; and in clinical care, as evidenced by experience, fellowships, and references.
Applicants must also be eligible for licensure in the District of Columbia.
