DMS International is seeking Instructor/Facilitators for our learning services team who will be responsible for performing various tasks in the development of training materials, tailoring of training classes and the delivery of standard and customized training classes in a range of leadership development subjects. This is a consultant position.
Responsibilities- Deliver assigned courses (both traditional and virtual)
- Maintain and revise course materials as required
- Certify in courses according to the course certification plan
- Maintain extensive knowledge of current management best practices, training approaches, and organization/function activities
- Participate as a team member
- Conduct classroom administration (set‑up / break‑down; circulate roster), as a member of a teaching team
- Participate in professional development activities (adult learning techniques, training methods, course development skills, etc.)
- Travel, as required, to deliver instruction
- Engage students in the course content in a positive way that facilitates individual learning
- Apply principles of adult learning theory to course delivery
- Facilitate group activities in the classroom and process resulting behaviors
- Manage student learning activities and participate in coaching to improve student skills (e.g., listening, questions, etc.)
- Participate in giving and receiving feedback for personal, team, and organizational growth
- MA/MS in Business Administration, Adult Learning, Organizational Development or a comparable area of study from a regionally accredited college or university
- Three to five years of experience as a facilitator in a formal traditional or virtual training environment
- Expertise in the facilitation of learning and the transfer of job‑related knowledge
- Highly experienced in motivating learners and engaging a variety of learning techniques to ensure context‑specific learning
- Five years of experience as a manager or supervisor
- Experience as a manager in federal agencies highly preferred
