Responsibilities
  • Create a classroom culture of high achievement and student ownership of their learning that supports intellectual, social and emotional development.
  • Provide daily instruction with clearly defined learning outcomes, well-designed lessons, and high-quality assessments aligned to Friendship’s curriculum and standards.
  • Incorporate creative, hands-on learning experiences that broaden students’ exposure and interests and require application of knowledge and skills learned.
  • Maintain a visually appealing classroom environment with resources aligned to curriculum and standards; showcase exemplary student work.
  • Communicate with students about talents, interests, needs, learning expectations, and progress.
  • Regularly communicate with families to report students’ achievements and progress.
  • Collaborate with school-based staff and across the Friendship network in meetings and professional learning to enhance student learning and achievement.
Qualifications
  • Experience in the role preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Successful completion of the Praxis II Exam
  • One year of teaching experience and evidence of high student achievement and growth
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in mathematics or math-related field
  • Undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development
  • Two years of teaching experience with demonstrated student achievement and growth
