** The Carroll Fellows Alumni project is being launched to strengthen the long-term impact and legacy of the Carroll Fellows Program by creating a formal alumni group. This group will serve as a platform for engagement, mentorship, fundraising, and events — connecting past Carroll Fellows with current students and the broader Georgetown community.

The
** John Carroll Fellows Assistant
** will play a central role in launching a new alumni engagement initiative designed to strengthen the legacy and long-term impact of the Carroll Fellows Program. This position focuses on building the foundational structure of a formal alumni network that connects past Carroll Fellows with one another and with current students. The role involves developing organizational frameworks, refining and verifying alumni data, supporting leadership recruitment, and laying the groundwork for future events and programming.

Working closely with university stakeholders and program advisors, the Assistant will ensure that milestones are met, documentation is organized, and deliverables are aligned with strategic goals. This is an opportunity to shape a high-impact initiative from the ground up, helping to establish a lasting platform for mentorship, engagement, and community building within the Carroll Fellows network.

This position will work closely with the Carroll Scholars Program Director, currently Professor John Glavin, on tasks related to setting up this alumni group, and on any necessary planning, events, and activities related to the Fellows or to Professor Glavin’s work in the Department of English.
** Duties include but are not limited to:
*** Develop an Alumni Network
* Work with the Office of Advancement to coordinate the Alumni Database Management
* Event Planning
* Strategic Coordination to ensure alignment with program goals.
* Engage with alumni to foster buy-in and build momentum for the initiative.
* Liaise with the Office of Advancement on alumni relations/fundraising
* Tasks as assigned related to the Carroll Fellows or the English Department
** Work Interactions
** The work performed by this position directly supports the Carroll Fellows Program’s long-term strategic goal of sustaining its impact beyond current student cohorts through the creation of a formalized alumni network. By leading the development of the Carroll Fellows Alumni Group, the position serves as a bridge between current fellows, alumni, and Georgetown University’s broader advancement and mentorship ecosystem. The Assistant ensures that the alumni group’s structure, leadership framework, and programming are well-aligned with the university’s engagement and fundraising strategies, while also modeling best practices from successful peer programs such as the Baker Scholars Alumni structure.

Through the design and implementation of organizational systems, completion of the alumni database, and development of an event framework for 2026, this role ensures that the initiative transitions from concept to sustainable operation. Ultimately, this position plays a key role in institutionalizing alumni engagement, enhancing mentorship opportunities, and reinforcing the Carroll Fellows Program’s legacy within Georgetown’s leadership community. As such, interactions will be with the Carroll Fellows current scholars and the program’s alumni, and with the Office of Advancement and the Department of English.

Other interactions may be required based on certain tasks.
