Summary
The Kogod School of Business Office of Graduate Admissions oversees the application process for the Full‑Time MBA and several Master of Science programs. Graduate Ambassadors are a key part of admissions, serving as prospective students’ first insight into student life. This role supports the team and serves as an ambassador for Kogod.
Essential Functions
- Serve as the primary liaison between prospective students and the Graduate Ambassador team.
- Assist full‑time admissions staff in overseeing a team of approximately 30 Graduate Ambassadors.
- Meet potential applicants face‑to‑face and provide information on courses, admissions processes, and offer campus tours.
- Coordinate campus visits and admissions conversations with various faculty and staff.
- Provide support for prospective student contact via email, phone, and front desk operations.
- Complete special projects as assigned, typically surrounding applicant outreach.
Position Type/Expected Hours Of Work
- Part‑time.
- 15–20 hours per week.
Salary Range
- $18.50 per hour.
Required Education And Experience
- A currently enrolled graduate student at American University’s Kogod School of Business.
- Experience as a KSB Graduate Ambassador for at least one semester.
- Organized, proactive, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Flexible, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Committed to good customer service. Retail, telemarketing, or coffee shop experience is a plus.
Preferred Education And Experience
- Federal work‑study students preferred.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- This position begins immediately in Spring 2026 and continues through the 2026–2027 academic year; availability for 15–20 hours per week is required.
- Scheduled work hours are flexible between Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Candidate must be able and willing to work in an in‑person environment depending on CDC/AU hybrid guidelines.
