Job Summary/Basic Function
The Agricultural Research and Development Program in the College of Engineering Science, Technology, and Agriculture ( CESTA ) at Central State University is looking for an Education Coordinator. The position is in support of a recently funded USDA Sustainable Agricultural Systems ( SAS ) grant awarded to Central State University and partner institutions including The Ohio State University, the University of Missouri, and Lincoln University.
The candidate will help accomplish all aspects of the educational objective of the USDA project including but not limited to facilitation of undergraduate student internships at partner institutions, organizing student workshops and team activities, facilitating in-person and virtual meetings for pertinent team members, and supervising and mentoring participating students in lesson plan, classroom activity and curriculum development for high school agricultural science education.
Working with partnering high schools, the candidate will help integrate the developed instructional materials within the high school curriculum. Using the curricula designed and trialed, the candidate will develop curriculum modules and resource guides for dissemination to teachers in school districts ensuring the module and guides align with the standards outlined by the National 4-H council for wider adoption. The position will involve travel to partnering institutions and schools in Ohio and Missouri as necessary to accomplish the educational objective.
The Education Coordinator is expected to take the lead on high school curriculum development and dissemination in agricultural sciences.
