Overview
Astrion is seeking a Surveillance Radar Engineer to provide technical subject matter expertise supporting FAA radar modernization and sustainment efforts across the National Airspace System (NAS). This role focuses on accelerating radar deployment schedules, resolving technical issues, and supporting system integration, testing, and field implementation.

Must be US citizen
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Systems Engineering (or related field)
- 8+ years of surveillance radar or air traffic systems experience
- Knowledge of primary/secondary radar, Mode 3/A, C, and S operations
- FAA or DoD radar program experience preferred
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- FAA Systems may include:
- Airport Surveillance Radar (ASR-9, ASR-11/DASR)
- Air Route Surveillance Radar (ARSR-4)
- ATCBI-6 / ATCBI-6A
- Mode S / Secondary Surveillance Radar
- Terminal and En Route Surveillance Interfaces
- Radar Sustainment and Modernization Programs
- Provide radar engineering SME support to FAA program offices and integrators
- Support accelerated deployment schedules and technical risk mitigation
- Review engineering designs, test plans, safety assessments, and installation packages
- Participate in design reviews, readiness reviews, and site commissioning
- Support system performance analysis, EMI/EMC mitigation, and spectrum coordination
- Develop technical briefings and recommendations for FAA leadership
