Responsibilities
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to mechanical engineers and designers.
  • Develop and manage project work plans for HVAC and plumbing design assignments.
  • Lead the selection of systems, establish basis of design, and ensure high-quality work product.
  • Represent the Mechanical discipline at client meetings and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Coordinate mechanical and plumbing design with other project disciplines and the Project Manager.
  • Support construction phase activities, including submittal reviews and responding to RFIs.
  • Maintain and develop mechanical/plumbing standards in collaboration with senior engineering staff.
  • Assist with quality control on mechanical and plumbing work products.
Must-Have Skills
  • Minimum of 8 years of focused mechanical and plumbing design experience.
  • Current Professional Engineer (PE) license in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Expertise in HVAC and plumbing design for multi-family, commercial, and government projects.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Trane Trace, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong ability to present technical information and respond to client inquiries.
Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Previous experience mentoring or leading a local or national mechanical team.
  • Background in developing and improving design standards and procedures.
  • Familiarity with the latest industry advancements in HVAC/plumbing systems and sustainability.
  • Experience in client relationship management within the engineering or design sector.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment.
