Here’s a Glimpse Of Your Day‑to‑Day
  • Plan, organize, and perform detailed electrical and/or control system design with the capability to manage engineering activities.
  • Function with minimal administrative direction from the division manager and lead control system design for multiple complex projects.
  • Research applicable industry standards, prepare and critique engineering studies, and analyze systems for preliminary and detailed design.
  • Develop and review engineering specifications and project cost estimates.
  • Direct and review the work of the project design team, monitor progress, and alert managers to scope changes and additional services.
  • Coordinate all aspects of project document completion.
  • Lead contributing engineers and CAD designers in preparing construction and control panel design drawings.
  • Interpret applicable codes and work independently with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception is required.
  • Coordinate project design with other engineering disciplines.
You’ll Be a Perfect Fit If You Have
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Master’s Degree is a plus.
  • Professional Engineer licensure is preferred.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of electrical design experience, focused on power systems for industrial facilities.
  • Experience specifying and designing systems for industrial, power, oil & gas, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or food & beverage facilities, with significant expertise in at least one of the core industries served by TAI.
  • Working knowledge of and ability to specify electrical components and field devices (e.g., combination starters, VFDs, MCCs, push buttons/selector switches, heat trace).
  • Experience designing, reviewing, and approving electrical construction drawing sets, including single lines, grounding plans, lighting plans, instrument and power location plans, conduit block and network architecture drawings.
  • Working knowledge of and ability to specify power systems for use in hazardous area locations as identified by NFPA 70.
  • Experience with generator sizing software.
  • Experience performing grounding, arc flash, short‑circuit, coordination, power factor, and/or harmonic analysis.
  • Professional interpersonal skills to interact with customers and gather critical information.
  • Manage design of all levels of complexity, including other electrical resources.
  • Manage existing customer relationships.
  • Working knowledge of NEC (NFPA 70).
Candidates Must Have Experience With The Following Software
  • SKM, Easypower, or ETAP
  • Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
  • AutoCAD (ability to open drawings, navigate, edit text, and print)
