Description

SAIC is seeking a well-seasoned Senior Windows System Engineer with experience in Microsoft Cloud Technologies to support Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) in Washington, DC. As a senior member of the Enterprise Support Services (ESS) team, you will work within the ESS team, interacting with peer teams and partner groups, scaling and deploying improvement, consolidation, migration and break/fix efforts within the enterprise.

This role requires an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Server Architecture, Power Shell Scripting, Active Directory, and Workstation Management. The right candidate will have the ability to adapt to changing technology and apply it to customer needs. Great communication, personal skills and a focus on customer service are a must. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, someone experienced and capable of taking ownership of complex issues with flexibility in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and take ownership of Windows system administration duties related to application migrations, upgrades, and new integrations.
  • Support yearly updates to DISA STIG benchmarks/baseline configuration on Windows Servers.
  • IIS middle-tier application hosting and operational support
  • Application control and security enforcement using App Locker
  • Provide senior level support for System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), packaging and distribution of software packages.
  • Make recommendations for changes to existing Group Policies (GPO) and implementing new GPO's.
  • Support the System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) environment by implementing workflow automation to streamline SCOM operations.
  • Support Windows Workstations imaging lifecycle, baseline configurations, and Operating System (OS) issue resolution.
  • Take lead to resolve organizational-wide outages impacting Windows Servers and Workstations.
  • Implement Power Shell scripting to automate Windows system administration and create new efficiencies.
  • Create and maintain system design diagrams to support implementation changes.
  • Receive technical work assignments through Service Now Changes and Tasks.
  • Document standard operating procedures and help create new work instructions.
  • Participate in an On-Call rotation for after-hours support.
  • Provide support for occasional planned changes after-hours as needed.
  • Participate in periodic disaster recovery exercises.
  • Reply to all customer inquiries within the required SLA and MTTR.
  • Work with vendors as needed to find solutions for uncommon and complex issues.
  • Engage with federal customers as needed to plan for future upgrades and new implementations as well as to support day-to-day operations.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's and 5 or more experience;
    Masters and three (5) years or more experience; ( 4 years experience in lieu of degree).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust requiring U.S. Citizenship.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Power Shell, Active Directory, Windows Server (2019 & 2022) system log analysis, Windows 11 Workstation OS org-wide administration.
  • Understanding of TCP/IP based networking concepts and basic troubleshooting for network communication errors from the command line.
  • Prior scripting and automation experience is required.
  • Hands-on experience implementing, administering or supporting Group Policy and Object Attributes.
  • Experience implementing best practices for Microsoft Windows Server administration.
  • Ability to work independently to process technical service requests using an enterprise ticketing system such as Service Now, Remedy, etc.
  • Experience resolving complex technical issues impacting org-wide operations.

Desired:

  • Power Shell Scripting and automation.
  • Active Directory and Group Policy administration.
  • Microsoft Windows Server OS, Windows 2019, 2022 and 2025.
  • Certificate Management.
  • Experience working in Azure environment.
  • Working knowledge of LDAP.
  • Ability to apply ITIL v4 Foundation concepts within the workplace.
  • General knowledge of Third-party management and monitoring solutions (SCCM, SCOM, Info Blox DNS, Big Fix).
  • Senior level knowledge and well-seasoned technical experience with Microsoft System Administration.

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
