Position: Design Engineer
Location: Washington, DC
Pay Range: $90,000 - $108,000
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- 5+ years of experience as a Design Engineer and/or GIS Engineer
- Strong proficiency with GIS tools and applications
- Demonstrated experience creating GIS maps, exhibits, and figures
- Experience preparing technical reports and documentation
- Working knowledge of underground pipe repair methods and terminology (e.g., bypass pumping, bulkheads, slip lining)
Job Description
- Review and prepare engineering calculations, permit applications, monitoring plans, and progress reports
- Develop conceptual and design drawings related to infrastructure projects
- Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and address construction issues and field conflicts as they arise
- Prepare construction documents and technical specifications
- Create GIS maps and project exhibits to support planning and construction efforts
- Perform spatial analysis related to infrastructure, ecological restoration, and development projects
