In addition to the education required for this position, you must have one full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 level. Specialized experience is defined as:
Experience applying a civil engineering discipline (structural, hydrologic, hydraulic, geotechnical, or engineering geology) in the investigation, design, construction, operation, or maintenance of a water-resources related infrastructure facility (such as dams, levees, surface water intakes, canals, flumes, or hydropower projects), and experience performing, documenting, or reviewing dam safety risk analysis, risk assessment, or risk-informed decision making using tools and procedures developed and implemented by one of the following entities: FERC, US Army Corps of Engineers, Bureau of Reclamation, or Tennessee Valley Authority.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including any volunteer experience.
Incumbent must possess and maintain a current license/registration as a professional engineer in any State(s), District of Columbia, Guam, or territory of the United States.
This position requires you to Obtain and Maintain a Top Secret Clearance.
