Environmental Engineer – Compliance / Risk / Regulatory:
Risk, Compliance & Independent Certification Support (DOE
0015015) supports the DOE Loan Programs Office (LPO) on energy infrastructure financing projects across the United States. The role provides independent engineering advisory services, including technical due diligence, credit evaluation, lifecycle monitoring, and environmental risk analysis for large‑scale oil, gas, power, utilities, and other infrastructure projects.
• Review project documentation and evaluate technical, commercial, and engineering interfaces.
• Identify environmental engineering risks, devise mitigations, and validate assumptions for lender‑ready decisions.
• Prepare defensible work products such as environmental design reviews, monitoring data, regulatory submissions, and performance metrics.
• Coordinate with engineering, finance, legal, construction, operations, environmental, and HSE stakeholders to support DOE and lender decision‑making.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geoscience, petroleum engineering, mechanical, electrical, chemical, civil, environmental, or related field.
• 10+ years of relevant engineering, construction, operations, compliance, risk, finance, or energy infrastructure advisory experience, preferably in oil & gas, power, utilities, or large‑scale infrastructure projects for owners, lenders, or federal clients.
• Professional certifications such as PE, PMP, CSP, API, NACE/AMPP, PMI or other discipline‑specific credentials preferred.
- Independent engineering review and technical due diligence.
- Environmental engineering controls, infrastructure impacts, emissions, water, waste, and remediation.
- Data‑room review, information‑request tracking, report writing, and Excel‑based analysis.
- Strong stakeholder coordination and clear presentation of findings.
- Technical judgment, independence, analytical rigor, attention to detail.
- Client service orientation, cross‑functional collaboration, issue escalation, quality mindset, schedule discipline.
- Ability to translate technical evidence into actionable risk, compliance, and financing implications.
