Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in the role of Quality Assurance/Quality Control for a General Contractor. The successful candidate will support MEP electrical designs for building projects, focusing on QA/QC of design, stakeholder collaboration, and subcontractor management. Expertise in lighting design, power distribution, and electrical capacity calculations is essential.

Responsibilities

+ Coordinate project recommendations and collaborate with clients.

+ Serve as Lead Project Engineer for electrical systems work.

+ Prepare and direct construction documentation, studies, and other critical reports.

+ Mentor and provide leadership to junior engineers.

Essential Skills

+ 10+ years of experience in electrical MEP design.

+ Proficiency in electrical engineering design and calculations.

+

Experience with Revit, Bluebeam, and AutoCAD.

+ Ability to work with clients and attend meetings.

+ Strong skills in electrical design and engineering calculations.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

+ Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.

+ Professional Engineering registration (PE) is highly preferred.

+ Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

+ Must be a US citizen.

Work Environment

The position requires onsite work at the Smithsonian in Washington, DC or Suitland, MD. The role offers a short-term contract with flexible scheduling.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Washington, DC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90.00 - $110.00/hr.
