Mechanical Commissioning Engineer

Building Commissioning Engineer (M.E./E.E.) – Hybrid

Salary: $90,000 – $120,000 per year

We are seeking a Commissioning Engineer with over 5 years of experience in commissioning and retro-commissioning new and existing facilities. The candidate will meet with clients and contractors, perform equipment performance testing, and support BAS/BMS/control systems testing. Projects include mid-size to large commercial projects such as new buildings and existing facility upgrades.

• Lead and execute commissioning projects from beginning to close‑out.
• Lead and execute condition assessments and energy audits for existing facilities.
• Support development of innovative energy concepts for new and existing buildings.
• Provide project management and coordination on small‑ and medium‑sized projects to meet client expectations for technical excellence, budget, and schedule.
• Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors, and other project team members.
• Produce summary reports and presentations and deliver them to clients, multidisciplinary project teams, and other relevant parties.
• Support business development activities including networking at industry events, developing and maintaining client relationships, and preparation of proposals.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
• 5+ years of commissioning or energy‑related experience
• Working knowledge of mechanical/HVAC systems, BAS, and controls systems
• Certifications desired: EIT, PE, CEM, CCP, CPMP, BEAP, LEED AP (highly preferred but not required)
• Strong technical skills and ability to perform equipment performance testing
