• Job Title: Tunnel Engineer (TE)
  Salary: TBD – Commensurate with Experience
  Location: Washington DC and Northern Virginia Area

  Description: The Tunnel Engineer (TE) shall have a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in geotechnical and tunnel engineering, including design, construction, and inspection of underground structures.

  Description: Candidates shall possess a minimum of four (4) years’ experience in Highway/Bridge construction. Current VDOT certifications, an equivalent, or participation in the Mid‑Atlantic Regional Technician Certification Program in disciplines such as Soles and Aggregates, Asphalt Field, Pavement Marking, Hydraulic Cement Concrete Field, DCR Erosion and Sediment Control, and Work Zone Traffic Control are preferred.

  Requirements: Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering;
  Familiarity with design‑build projects and Virginia Department of Transportation highway and bridge project standards and specifications.
  Responsibilities: Prepare engineering design for the D.C. Department of Transportation Federal highway and bridge “design‑build” projects. Collect and study reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photographs and test data on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and related topographical and geologic data. Determine project costs by calculating labor, material, and related costs. Prepare engineering documents; develop construction specifications, plans, and schedules. Confirm adherence to construction specifications and safety standards.
  
  Monitor project progress, inspect construction sites, verify calculations and placements. Provide engineering information by answering questions and requests.
