The successful candidate will provide human factors analysis and strategic program support to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), focusing on identifying research, engineering, and technology integration opportunities. Strategic needs will be determined through the human factors analysis of operational concepts, rules/guidance materials, safety event reports, and interactions with FAA stakeholders. The successful candidate will present these work products to team members, clients, and stakeholders.
PotentialWork Activities
- Conduct human factors reviews of Enterprise Architecture roadmaps, plans, and other proposed technology or infrastructure improvements.
- Provide technical support to aviation human factors research programs.
- Design, implement, and maintain tools, templates, and processes to enhance the efficiency, consistency, and impact of ongoing research programs.
- Perform comprehensive human factors analyses Voluntary Reporting System (VRS) data to identify human factors trends, safety issues, and operational risks.
- Lead and facilitate collaborative meetings and workshops to capture, refine, and prioritize emerging human factors needs across stakeholders and operational domains.
- Develop white papers, meeting minutes, and presentations for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Factors, Engineering, Psychology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for presenting technical work products.
- Availability for on-site work in Washington, DC.
- Must be a U.S. citizen who can successfully complete a government security investigation.
- Advanced degree in Human Factors, Engineering, Psychology, or related discipline.
- Functional understanding of air traffic control, general aviation, and commercial aviation.
- Experience working directly with FAA concepts and stakeholders.
